Christmas lights

E-mail Print PDF

It is that time of the year where we unpack those boxes that have been consuming vast amounts of space in our garage most of the year (Yes weh have been collecting for several years now)

Main Xmas lights

Mess with those pesky light bulbs and determine which ones will work another year and which ones will be discarded. This year the theme has changed slightly and the plywood was carved into various shapes and sizes. Christmas Penguins

As you can see we have a wonderful  new addition of penguins to dance the night away.

Last year we were able to get a great deal on a musical box (the controls the lights to music) in the new years sales. This year it has found its place in controlling the display, so aside from just having permanantly on lights, they now flash to a rythm.

We did however bring out our good old roundabout and made it home to the newly crafted snowman, who have been a favorite with many of the school kids that come round. Of course our Electric bill likes to climb a bit during this festive season too.

Relaxation

Beach HotelsAs usual this page always takes the back seat for being undated. Just been down to the beach and had a great relaxing time away from all technology and just family and pets. The time spent was great, especialy watching the sunrise early in the mornings and the birds that were making the most of the clear beaches before the general puplic came along and took up their daily beachcoming activities .

New Addition To The Family

E-mail Print PDF

The past couple of weeks have gone past with much room to breath. We got a new addition to the family after visiting a few animal shelters to adopt a stray dog to get a friend for our other dog "Bovril" as he is always full of energy and our cats were taking a bit of a thrashing . Bovril and Baby

After having the pup for a week , we noticed that she was not feeling well , and as the jabs were due, decided to take her slightly early to the Vet. Well we had a huge shock, she had "Parvo Virus" and we were asked what course of action to take - i.e. put her down as the prognosis for survival is not good - especially only being 8 weeks old, or gamble and try and get her through it with drips, medication and loads of special care.

Well after several nail biting nights and emotional days "Baby" has come home and is now taking it easy and recovering happily. Of course the family is feeling relieved that all is ok.

It is amazing the emotions that can be attached to a pet in such a short timeframe.

Of course the pound was not pleased to hear the news as they had to follow up with the other adopted pet owners and had a massive cleanup of their kennels.

Baby is now doing well and will soon get a name - this is now the most difficult task for us, she is absolutly minute in size, but as is shown , a real fighter.

Settling In

E-mail Print PDF

. Hi - I am Taz

It has been a while since I updated the site, so here is another story with a few images

Taz (formerly "Baby") has been finding her place in the family and has been a real whirlwind with all her activities. Initially introducing herself here is Taz.

Taking a walk around the garden and noticing a few strange strands of something called grass and dirt, eventually finding a small flowering plant - Oops no flowers left, but you can see why, Maybe I am a Rabbit!AmIARabbit,

Nah really I am not , so I will continue to explore my environment and determine what I am.

Ah What is this , the colour is similar to mine, but that fluffy tail doesn't quite match. Well lets take a look, shall I approach slowly? Who Is Stalking Whom

or shall I risk it and announce myself - Yea Lets give it a try and show what I am made of - Here goes    1    2    3   HEY! are you the same as me - Look I can show you a few tricks.Look Real close - Are you a relative?

ok, OK you don't seem very interested- Not in my genes so I will look further afield, Ah - what is that - looks like my kind of tail, different colour, but those ears ..Mmmm

Could I be a Dog

Hey You! how about a game ? Are you game, can I play?- You know you want too, so what do you say?Lets play -Are you ready

Hey you are fun - You actually get this - lets keep going, these baby teeth will only remain this sharp for a short while and I goto make the most out of them.Oh MY What big Teeth You have

Well maybe those gnashers are too much for me - time to go and explore again, wow my little legs have to take many steps to get around this outdoor playground, ...Wait , what is this I see ?Another Cat - Are you friendly?

Do you play like my friend the One with the big Teeth ?

There is always a way to find out - As I usually do - I will first run around like a maniac and see if I can make you dizzy, then I will come in for a bulldozer move. Here I Come

Look I can Jump over you - these legs of mine have great stamina and strength, and you look so small there - no point in jumping up to join in, I can do the running for both of us!Argh- You move faster than me!

WOW! what was that - --- How you do that, I thought I was the fastest around here. ---YOU WERE KIDDING RIGHT THERE YOUNG LASS - I EAT YOU FOR LUNCH ....   Oh Nooo..... I don't do entrapment Whilst Dad is watching

NEVER MIND - DAD IS WATCHING - I dont do lunch till later anyways... - NOW ZOOT OFF THERE TAZ and play with your BuddyBest Buddies

A day in the Life

E-mail Print PDF

Morning Before Sun Is Up

Yesterday was quite an eventful day with capturing some great scenic shots, so I decided to pick a few and post them here to tell a story of the day in my life and what I see.

The first image as you can see is real early morning, before the sun is actually up, but enough light to show the morning sky. .As the Sun Rises

As I get to the office the sky is turning a warm colour of orange, so I find a vantage point to try and capture a picture using the "Thirds rule" (where the image is immanginary divided up into 9 cubes and each proportianally used to make an apeasing image.

Reflection

At lunch I take a quick run to grab that fresh air that seems never to circulate enough in an office environment. Of course the track runs around the pond and I notice the reflective qualities of the water. This is not normal for tis time of day as the water surface is normally full of ripples due to the wind, so you could say that this is the calm before the storm - I did not realize it at the time, but was going to find out a bit later.

Storm buildingAs work ends and oblivious to what has been happening outside I step out the door and notice the temperature has dropped substancially since earlier. Initially I don't notice the huge storm fron that has been appearing overhead, but as I jump in the car and start my drive home I am struck by this awesome cloud formation that has appeared.

Silouete TreeIt was amazing to see several houses with thos clouds behind them, something that is there for only a moment, then gone as the light changes and the clouds swiftly move across. . Farmhouse in upcoming stormAs expected the storm does bring a gift that was not expected, but only later in the evening. Time to take the dog for a walk before catching a few zzz's. The dog is unwilling to go outside, but when the door is opened, the reason becomes obvious and the day has played it's final card for the supprised photographer.Snow has arrived
